Is It Beer Yet – 13 Beers for Halloween – Trick R Treats

Number 12 and it’s a beer I’ve been threatening to make for a long time – a Candy Corn Ale.

Names after the Trick R Treat house at Halloween Horror Nights 28 and the greatest Halloween candy of all time, Trick R Treats is blonde ale with a bit of Candy Corn flavoring to make it a classic(?) Halloween beer.

Is It Beer Yet – 13 Beers for Halloween – Carniv-Ale

This is the turning point, this is the beer that launched the 13 total beers. Beer number 11, “Carniv-Ale”.

Named after the Carnival Graveyard – Rust in Pieces haunted house at Halloween Horror Nights 28, Carniv-Ale is a simple beer designed to showcase the New Zealand Motueka Hop.

Is It Beer Yet – 13 Beers for Halloween – Soul Grabber

Beer number 9 and the only beer making a return from a prior Halloween Horror Nights year.

In 2017 I made a milk chocolate coconut porter that was a far bigger hit than I expected it could be.

With 13 different beers on the line I wanted to make at least one that work out, so I dusted off last year’s recipe and made “Soul Grabber” again.

The name comes from the Halloween Horror Nights 27 website them of a “Soul Collector” running things behind the scenes (sorta).

4.6 oz Roasted Barley

Is It Beer Yet – 13 Beers for Halloween – Scary Ales

Lucky number 7 – “Scary Ales”. No brew project can go by without me making an amber ale. It’s my favorite and I’m not ashamed to say it.

The name comes right from the very last attraction announced for Halloween Horror Nights 2018, the Original Content House “Scary Tales – Deadly Ever After”.

Amber ales will likely be a style I’ll spend my whole brewing tenure trying to perfect, and in the vein this is new, adjusted recipe for this project.

Is It Beer Yet – 13 Beers for Halloween – Twisted Tater

The 8th beer out of the 13 brewed for Halloween, “Twisted Tater” This was the first beer named, created, and planned for brewing when this project began. The lack of a specific and much need specialty grain kept this one from kicking off the project.

It’s inspired by the best food in the Halloween Horror Nights event world – Twisted Taters. It’s also my first Brown Ale, a style I tend to forget I like.
