The show that takes an in-depth look at the classic BBC Series “Blakes7” on character at a time! Following the "In Character" format from NEOZAZ.com, "Blake7 In Character" features a single character each episode and explores their history, back story, and details in more depth you would ever need.
Dear Ian and Eric, I am sadder than sad that your podcast will soon be ending. I’ve listened to all the B7 podcasts and enjoy yours the most. I taped Blake’s 7 on cassettes too, but I went a step further and transcribed each episode so I could enjoy them as a script!! In Australia we had to wait longer for the series to arrive, but my friend and I have always loved the show. Avon is indeed my favourite character, and the first thing we ever saw on the first computer our school bought was Blake’s 7 bloopers followed by The Professionals photos! (we were teachers so we could go to school at weekends!!)
I like Avon because his character has the best lines in the show, and the most interesting hair evolution!!, followed by Vila. I am grateful that Servalan was such a strong female character, and agree wholeheartedly that the other women were nothing more than fruit for the sideboard most of the time. And yes, there were some incredibly sexist episodes, with violence towards women unacceptable even then. And how the women ever did anything in those evening style costumes and shoes in the first seasons I will never know, the jumpsuits/boilersuits we’re at least practical.
I regularly watch the show, but never the last episode, so in my mind they are not dead, they are in some kind TV purgatory of my own making, never ending, but also never beginning again.
I have listened to your entire podcast three or four times, and I am usually in agreement, though I do despair that of course your podcast has an almost 100% male POV.
I don’t have The Facebook or The Twitter, so I hope this reaches you. Being somewhat of a Luddite I don’t really know how to leave a review, but it would be 5 Stars.
I am not a model maker, but I do sew and so my top project for this year is to create and print some more B7 fabric and sew a dress. I’ve sewed my friend a bag and I have made Doctor Who, Star Trek and Star Wars clothes, but no Blake’s 7.
I am so looking forward to your final crew episodes, and countdowns of your favourite characters.
Thanking you kindly,
Harki
