  • I had just started my first job in a factory when this was being shown on telly. I remember having the piss taken out of me the following day as I had let it slip I was a Dr who fan!

It was like millions of fans had to go underground or in hiding overnight thanks to this! Also, being young and wanting to get laid was never gonna happen if you admit to liking Dr who at this time in the shows history. Thanks for nothing JNT! Lol.I

Anyway, fast forward to my exhibition years the remains of the cleaning robot was in one of the store cupboards getting in everyone’s way! There was one half of a side panel left, made from fiberglass set on steel braces it weighed a tonne, as usual totally over engineered and still looking crap. In the end I ask my boss to get rid of it or put it in the skip. It wasn’t worth taking up valuable exhibit space.

As for the pool cleaner that was also fiberglass with a few wires and battery pack to the eyes. I think it was pushed through the water on a gimble but can’t be sure.

As far as props are concerned these were dull dull dull and very boring.
