Yes, gents–Indy and Deidre had sex, and in surprisingly lurid detail in *Indiana Jones and The Seven Veils* (the book in which they were married, and which ended with her death in a plane crash). Also, the two of them were never classmates: she was one of his pupils at his first teaching gig.
When Young Indy finally came out on DVD, Uncle George apparently made the decision to memory hole the “Old Indy” bookends (some of them were actually pretty good). This was JUST before Crystal Skull, so it seems to me he was trying to retcon things by removing the daughter and the rest of the Jones family of the ’90s in order to buttress the idea that he had a son instead.
