Funny, it would never occur to me that Toecutter could not be an original leader. First of all – the authority he has. I don’t think Bubba was annoyed, I think he was incredibly loyal, just look at the “it’s not for him, it’s for me” scene. And that scene is actually also my second point for Toecutter-leader thing. “He’s [Johnny] nothing like the Nightrider”. So Johnny is a person that was supposed to take over Nightrider’s position in a gang. But, well, he’s never got to learn 😉
