With the new Resident Evil in theaters, Chris, Dave and Luke rank their five favorite zombies. Movies, shows, games and music videos all count. First they have to settle what a zombie even is (undead, infected, possessed?), and the rules bend more than once. Along the way: video games Dave won’t play, motion sickness at Universal, years of Walker Stalker cons, the movies that would change Dave’s list if they counted, and every host’s zombie apocalypse plan.

0:17 Hello and welcome to the Best of Fives. Zombie Edition. Zombie Edition ZE. I wanted to hear this song longer. You don’t have no idea how much I love. Cranberries’ Zombie song. So much listen to it on your own time. We have work to do, we have work to do. Um Dave is here. My son Luke’s here’cause he’s’cause he’s always here. He won’t leave. He won’t leave. I tell him, get the hell out. He just comes right back in. I pack his bags. I put them by the front door. He puts everything away. You know, he unpacks it. Yeah. Um, well, we’re recording this. There’s a new Resident Evil that came out this weekend, and Luke and I saw it. We asked Dave, he was busy, but he’s seeing it tonight. We’re not going to talk about what’s happened in the movie, but Luke and I really enjoyed it and Dave is looking forward to seeing it. So. Luke had the idea to uh do a best of five. Zombie Edition. Now I Thought immediately anything zombies, anything zombie-ish.
1:21 So T Vs, movies, games, whatever, you know, songs, anything you wanted that has. Mom’s a zombie. However, My my list isn’t m my list is wrong, what am I what am I about to say. There’s a definition for like zombie. Oh, I like this. Also, by the way, before you get into this, I don’t like your tone. Well, yes, Dave on Friday night. But Dave was busy. No, no, no. No, Dave had plans. Didn’t mean Dave. Dave was too busy. No, no, no. I’m just kidding. Dave had something else going on, which is fine. You know, we all have lives. It happens. And he would have went if he. Wasn’t busy. Right. And if I had showed up, I would be like, I just want to let you guys know, I’m really busy, but I made time for you. I’m just kidding. What’s your definition? I love that. I didn’t look it up, but some people, a zombie is like the undead. Something that was alive.
2:21 I’m assuming that is now And then. But some zombie stuff isn’t really like a zombie then. Which maybe we can get into it on our list. Like, you know what I mean? Like, isn’t some rules? If if it’s Not undead, it’s not a zombie kind of thing. Yeah, I hear what you’re saying,’cause there are some people that don’t even call some zombie movies zombie movies. They call them infected movies. Yeah. Maybe that’s when they’re still alive. Like what was that movie that just came out that we liked? Colony. Oh, yeah. Yeah, yeah. Like those people were behaving like zombies, but they were never really zombies. No, they weren’t like infected. That’s what I mean. Infected. Like is infected a zombie? It all depends on on the on the viewer. I agree. Yeah. Whatever you think. Because there are a couple of movies that I did not put on my list that at the end, I’m going to say, if these count as zombie movies, this changes everything. I totally agree. Okay. And there’s a bunch, like, once I hear your list and Luke’s list, I’m going to say, holy shit. Like, you asked me with you this list again tomorrow, I’ll have a whole new list.
3:29 You know what I mean? Yeah. These were the ones I just I quick wrote down and then, you know, I didn’t really like Dive deep into the zombie verse. Right. Well this was Luke’s idea. Again, what is your definition? Of a zombie. What is your yeah? What’s your name, money? Oh, some of the like undead that’s not someone who’s just who’s just undead. Like someone who Who who won who was alive and came back. Okay. I mean, that’s pretty straightforward. You can’t argue with that. Like, I mean, everybody’s, I’m sure there are people, not that anybody is listening to this because there’s only like four of them. Finally, look up the real Whatever it’s called, dictionary definition of zombie. And then anybody that listens to us is pretty chill, and they’re not going to be. You know, arguing about things, but there are sure people out there that would die on some hill and come back from the dead. Yeah, which is a zombie about.
4:32 These definitions. And I’m sometimes that guy about some things. I’m just not about this. This is something that everybody seems to really like. I mean, they keep making these movies. And uh They’re just supposed to be fun and Alright. And I’m not I’m not getting Like, let’s just say, like, like this, I would count zombies as like this kind of universe of like, you know, of like Frankenstein, werewolf, mummy. All right, hold on. Zombies. Buddy, turn your light up. I can’t see them. Volumes of bad. zombie is this is so this is what you do in a restaurant right you turn on your freaking flashlight to read the no luke hands yes that is true i am not embarrassed now you are hands me his phone and the brightness is like halfway or almost all the way down i cannot see the high brightness hurts my eyes the high brightness it also saves the battery I don’t care what yeah, charge it up. It’s it’s I can’t. A zombie is a fiction or legendary corpse. That has come back to life, but without a normal mind or free will. That’s a damn good.
5:36 I like that. But then there’s pop culture and movies. There’s undead infection or destruction. All right. Well, I guess the we’ve learned nothing. And I’m not surprised. But I was saying earlier, you know, like Wolfman, Mummy, Frankenstein, I would count zombie in like that kind of category. And zombies isn’t really. On the top of my list, sometimes of like the creatures of the night, or whatever you want to call it. You know what I mean? Okay. Luke, what’s the order? And do it fast before one of us dies and then we come back at the zombies. Who’s you go first. Nate. He’s he’s supporting me, Dave. Yeah. Then I’ll go. And they will ask. Okay. So you say you’re saying you you’re seeing the best for last. Okay. I don’t think so. I’m not I’m I don’t I’m no authority on this, so I’m not really, yeah. And there’s so many out there that I just skipped. I just picked five. Six. So here’s a question. Go ahead. Can you use ones?
6:39 kind of like infected. That’s not according to the person who’s speaking. Yeah, you do whatever you want. Yeah, do whatever you want. There’s no rules. No one’s going to fire us. And so it’s going to be you firing yourself. Yeah, you’re the creative director. You make those decisions. Ask yourself. Go ahead. Yes, yourself. So yourself. say self, can I use in in in infection people? And then go, yes, she can self. All right, I’m going first, buddy. Yeah. All right. My number five is I think I showed Luke to this Luke this a while ago, maybe. Um I think I did it because it was just funny. It was a funny zombie movie. It was Zombieland. And it was Bill Murray. Yeah. To be a zombie. If my memory even my memory is always shit, just to stay alive. He’s just pretending to be a zombie so he fits in with all the zombies. Am I correct, Dave?
7:44 Yeah. Okay. So you have that that specific Yeah, yeah, that scene just when they turn the corner. And it was in the mansion, and it’s Bill Murray with fucking makeup on, you know, as it pretending to be a zombie, just so he doesn’t die. Yeah, it’s really funny. So Columbus is the scared one? He’s like a little bunny. I’ll get him. Explodes. Oh, no, no, it’s okay. It’s okay. Thank God. Yeah. Is that how you say hello where you come from? It’s been a long time since I said I watched this movie, but I just remember when I first saw it, just roaring, just pissing my pants, and he shoots him because you think he’s a zombie, but he was just Bill Murray in a wig. Ellie, that is such a Bill Murray thing. He goes, I’ll get him.
8:54 And I always like the Bill Murray history. He doesn’t have a cell phone. He doesn’t have anything. I’ve had to get a hold of him to be in your movies. It’s like, Extremely pardon rare. I’m glad he was in designer. It’s it’s a dumb movie, but I I thought it was fun just seeing him. As himself. Dinguis are funny. Yeah, there’s about two of them, I think. Yeah, yeah. So that’s that’s that’s my number five, Bill Murray. I actually so of the rule, he wasn’t really dead. But him just pretending to be a zombie worked for me. Don’t worry about it. It doesn’t matter. It doesn’t matter. Violation. No. I’m fires. Luke, what’s your number five? Modern five is Zombieland. For Bill Murray or just for the zombies themselves? Okay. Oh, the whole movie. Yeah. Okay. I I didn’t pick just a movie. I I just picked the movie’cause I love I love Yeah. What year was this out? Zombieland.
9:57 ‘Kay. Pretty old. But the man will look it up. He’s the master looker upper. Wimelina, buddy? And it’s it’s great. I mean, it is a fantastic I think I think I like one more than what’s two, like head shot or double shot, whatever it’s called. Double tap. Double tap. Yeah, yeah, yeah. First one came out two thousand nine. So you were, I didn’t, you were five. I didn’t say you’d take it to see this when you were five, right? The second one came out in 2019. We probably watched the first one before I took you to see part two. Yeah. Good parenting. There you go. Yeah, the good parenting. Oh boy. Always looking for his Twinkies. It is Twinkies. It’s because Twinkies live on forever. Twinkies never die. All right, so our five is Zombieland, Dave. Is your five Zombieland? No. I did like the first Zombieland when I saw it, but I don’t even think I have it. It’s an honorable mention. Probably because of God, what’s that fucking guy’s name? Uh like Luthor, who played him?
11:00 I don’t like him. Jesse Eisenberg, right? Yeah, he. I’m not a fan of him either. He just drives me up the wall. Um, but. Yeah, good movie. My number five is the newest movie that I have, and when this came out last year. I saw it early. I think I saw like an advanced screening, and I saw this scene, and I was just like, holy shit. And then everybody that I knew afterwards that saw this was like, Dave. This movie and this scene specifically was made for you. 28 Years Later: The Bone Temple. And I liked the whole movie so much. It was actually really, really fucking sad. Both of those, those, those. Uh That one and the one that came after it, which was just about The kid. Um I love these movies and Jack O’Connell. is fantastic in them too. The scene where Ralph Fiennes
12:01 To make it look like he is. Satan Uh Jack O’Connell is telling his gang is his is ru is his son is dad. Mm. to Iron Maiden’s number of the beast was the best thing that I saw last year, I swear to God. [Music] I’ve watched that scene. dozens of times.
13:02 And I went back and saw the movie a second time and filmed just that scene so I could have it on my phone and I could just watch it whenever I wanted without having to go to like YouTube or anything like that. Cause it was still new in theaters and it wasn’t like out, out. And I kept it and I like sent it to Tim. It was like, holy shit, my life revolved around this scene for like a couple of weeks. such a good movie. And and this accentuated the zombie lore that was Put out through that entire series, and I know they’re making another one. Yeah, yeah, this was a good movie, yeah. I’ll keep watching anything that Danny Boyle wants to do with this, so uh. Really, really memorable. And I’m glad there’s something new in here because generally my stuff tends to skew older. Things that have you know, grown up with or that are part of Hmm. I am as an entertainment consumer. So I’m glad to always add something new. And this is great. I wanna know, did he have a boom box or an iPod when he played that song? He had his record player. Oh, he did. He did. He did, actually. Because that’s one of the jokes. It’s very it’s a very bleak movie, but every once in a while there’s humor in it.
14:10 And he is listening to his old records in his like compound. You’re right. Was it who was it, Bowie? Yeah, what was yeah, he was like listening to like, you know, classic, classic music. And then Jack O’Connell’s like, listen, you’re gonna do this for me or we’re gonna kill you. You’re gonna pretend like you’re Satan so they all believe me, that I’m the son of Satan. And he goes right to the record collection and he pulls out number of the beast and he goes, Well We’re going to have to turn it up to 11. And it’s like, now there’s this moment of comedy in this. This is the most bleak movie ever, but great. It was a good move. All right, me. Man number four. Man number four. My my number four is just everything that involves this. Because I played all the games, saw all the movies, and the new movie just came out. Anything Resident Evil. is just fantastic. Like I love playing those games as a as a I guess twenties, you know, I don’t even know when the first one came in, the nineties when the PlayStation One or something like that. The Resident Evil Games is I love that shit, being scared and the me live movies were stupid and fun and this this new one was really good.
15:18 Even though A.S. Luke and all there’s a Resident Evil Netflix show buddy? And we never watched it. Yeah. I don’t know why. Yeah. Maybe that’s why. Is it based on the games? are based on the movies. I don’t really know. I don’t really know. Like, there’s another podcast that came out doing a reviewable, and I was like, Oh yeah, that came out. I I I never watched it. I don’t think we just never Get around to it. But you know, and those those those games, you know, whereas even one, two, three, four, whatever, you know, we played them all and it’s scary and shit and it’s hard and you find the find the guns and the bullets and and you’re killing the zombies and everything. It’s it’s it’s Yeah, buddy? The first game came out 1996. Yeah. For the PlayStation I think. Yeah, that makes sense. That’s when we were playing it at the movie theater. In the projection booth. So and it’s it’s been on you you gotta give it to like a zombie whatever. Or I’m sorry, in infectious
16:20 They’re not really zombies, I guess, but you know, zombieish. Oh, because they’re infected by the The virus from the umbrella umbrella company. It’s they’re not even easy, but in my eyes, if you walk like that. You’re a zombie. I think it all counts. Nobody’s going to argue with you. Right. Um I have that little video game console that you can buy online. Is that right there? Yeah, you can play all the Resident Evil games. I played Resident Evil 2. not that long ago, and I’m just shit at it. But it’s cool to see it. I mean, that thing has tens and tens of thousands of video games on it. So if you ever want to play any of the Resident Evils. I at a at a you know the touch of a button. I know. That is, I gotta look into that. I have to get that so I can play. I can play Missile Command anytime I want. I love that that’s the first thing you go to. 1984 Missile Command. Because when you first got that and we came over and we were playing that.
17:22 kicking ass in Missile Command. I was doing great. Yeah, yeah. That’s my number four. Anything Resident Evil. It’s just, it’s what I guess. I you know, high school was ninety one, I graduated, but I guess I was gonna say what I g I grew up with, but I guess after my high school life. I grew up with residue. Bye, Luke. Don’t say, don’t sit there as any of them. You can’t say anything. Mine were four, yeah. World War Z. Yes. See, that’s a fantastic one. And there’s rumors for part two. Yeah, yeah. But supposedly, the past like years now, they’re making it. But it’s back. Yeah. Now there are. been a while. There were nine zombies that they just infected. Or are they zombies? They’re infected, but. I mean everybody it’s World War Z. Like Z is it’s not just like World War, you know, or anything. It’s Z for a reason. Z stands for zombies, right? Okay. That was great. The first time we watched that. Yeah, that was fantastic. Isn’t that the one? I’m getting a lot of my zombie movies confused.
18:30 Is that the one where he’s walking through windo like and they’re like right behind glass and then they’re like biting? Like I say like behind a window Yeah, well at the end, he’s a scientist. That’s the reason he’s brought in on all this. And the whole beginning of that takes place in Philadelphia, which is cool. Yeah, yeah, yeah. And they bring him in at the end because he’s a he’s like an affection expert. And he does that thing almost like War of the Worlds. where They decide that if we’re infected Remember how in War of the Worlds they killed the zombies with just like the common cold? Yeah, with with a yeah, with an allergy pill. Yeah. Yeah. With what’s it called? Zyrtec. And that was right, exactly. So he they take him to the World Health Organization. Because that’s all they’re doing the whole time, is trying to get him to. like the headquarters in, I don’t know, Switzerland or something like that. That’s right. And so he can work on something and instead he gets trapped and he’s like, you know what? Fuck it.
19:34 And he injects himself with like every virus, but like nothing, he doesn’t inject himself with like AIDS. He gives himself like, you know, like measles, chicken pox. Right, strep throat. Like he gives himself all that shit. And then he’s like, fuck it. We’re all going to die. This might work. And he opens the door and that one comes in and it’s like right in his face. And it’s like sniffing them and it’s like, it won’t. It won’t. Um attack him because he’s sick. That’s right. I gotta watch that again. Maybe when part two finally comes out, we we watch it. In the movie? Was there like a big wall? All the zombies are climbing up like you know, colony. Yeah, we’re gonna mention colony a lot in the chips though, because that’s how the colony movie was. They’re like ants, and they were like made their own little ant hill, yeah, zombie hill. Yeah, I really like how colony. described that and explained it that it’s a hive mentality. And it’s shared information and they’re so smart. Whether it’s an ant or a zombie, that they adapt and learn from each other and work together as a hive. It’s really cool. It really is. It’s scary.
20:46 That’s a good one, buddy. World War Z was was, you know. for Brad Pitt and for for the idea of of what would happen and all. Yeah. Going, buddy. Dave’s number four. I remember before I went uh silly, I guess you call it. And I love The stuff that Tim Burton and Johnny Depp did together and Helena Bonham Carter. So my number four is Corpse Bride. Okay. It’s just so delightful. And I remember, especially when our kids were little, I was always trying to. Find ways to introduce Halloween or horror into my son’s life without it being too scary. Right. And this was perfect. This came along at the perfect time. There’s zombies, you know, there’s definitely an element of fright. but it’s not intense. It’s a musical. This had everything going for it. The Danny Elfman songs are. Freaking delightful. And it’s a it’s a good love story too. I freaking love Corpse Bride. And that goes into Remains of the Day, like the best song.
22:15 In the movie, I love Corpse Bride a lot. I ever actually have a uh Victory figure Corpse Bride, yeah, standing right over to my right. I freaking love it so much. It’s been so long since I’ve seen this movie. I think I probably did so once when it was out in theaters. Yeah, this might, I mean, Danny Elfman did so many great things. This song specifically, This Remains of the Day, this might be one of the best things he ever did. better than some of those scores. Because he tells the whole story of the corpse bride and how she was killed by this other guy, and it’s just great. It’s been a while. That’s when that’s when I should introduce you to. Alright, so where we at? Mine number three? Back to my number three, get off of here. Turn up the light. I can’t see. My number three. Which Is I blame Luke Luke for my number three. I guess when Caitlin still lived at home and everything, this was a big deal. And we and we played it and we watched the new show. Why do I make? Because The Last of Us is something I never would have probably gotten into if it wasn’t for you and your sister saying of how great the games were. And I played the first one. Like we played that like one.
23:31 Yeah, but I like we all we all waited until we were all home together. And they’re not zombies, right? They’re infected by what? Like plants? Don’t they grow like mushrooms out of their bodies or leaves? I don’t, I don’t know the real. Terminology. The Last of Us was a fantastic game and the show is just as good as fantastic. Dave doesn’t like it because you gotta walk around a lot. Well, the show was good until he was gone. But in real life, you walk too. That is. So, what’s the difference? Do you want to play a video game of your daily life? I got up and I went downstairs and I got in my car and then I went to work. Do you want to play your work life and then I go to the grocery store? Do you want to play a game of you cutting grass? No. You know why? Because you cut the grass. Why would you play the game of some something that you could do? Well, there is like simulators of of mowing grasses. What’s that mean? What does what? It’s a simulator. You can cut the grass in like a virtual way.
24:38 Why would you do that? Oh. Some people find that stuff comforting. It’s like soothing, yeah. Well, Last of Us was a fun game and the and and and playing it and it was creepy. The you guys over there at the Bloaters, right? Yeah. The bloaters was a big deal. It’s it’s a fun game and it’s Violent and nasty, and the I think they should give the game another chance. Now, I’m not gonna do that. I can’t give games a chance now, yeah. And I’m not good, I’m not good at games like that anyway. I don’t enjoy games like that. I’m glad that you do. The show was good. He likes sports. He likes sports. What games do you enjoy? I like sports games that are different all the time and you have more control over the outcome. Like your skill at the game as a, you know, fake athlete. Determines whether or not you win, not some predetermined storyline. That’s why I don’t like games like that. And it does it’s not just The Last of Us. I played that Indiana Jones and the Great Circle. Yeah. Because it’s like, oh, it’s Indiana Jones. I hate it.
25:40 I gotta step here. Okay. And then if you get stuck, it’s like, well, what do I do now? I’m completely stuck. I can’t get over this. I think they would hate like. Zelda and like Tomb Raider, that’s how all those were. You had to unlock puzzles and shit. Yeah, I don’t I don’t like it. The Lego games were good because that was more unpredictable. You did have things that you had to do, but there was it was a it was a world. It was like a universe. Then you could go wherever you wanted. Right. Right. You could ignore it, you know, and just do whatever you wanted to do. They’ve like simple games where you just hit a ball. Yes, I want to push one button. He wants to have. He wants the old Atari with the red button on. On the top right, right? Yeah, but with like today’s graphics, yeah. Like I play, like I play FIFA, like soccer and stuff like that. It would be great if it was just a joystick. And a and two buttons. Red button. One was pass and one was shoot. That’s all I need. Yeah, it’s it’s I mean, I’m I’m I’m always a Nintendo guy. But sometimes when the Xboxes and the PSs, there’s like fucking seven to ten buttons up here, an F L R R L and the triggers underneath underneath the control pad. I mean, come on. I only have 10 fingers, you know what I mean? I’m on 11 buttons. And it does make for someone that is really good at that and understands how to use that controller, it does give them an advantage and they should.
27:03 benefit from being so skilled because I would play my son in something. And I’m just doing pass and shoot. And he’s like sly tackling and doing all kinds of stuff. And I’d be like, how do you do that? And he’s like, well, it’s under, it’s the trigger. It’s the this. It’s the same. I’m like, I didn’t even know there was a button there. Yeah, so I lose. We grew up when there was this easy bug. We’re playing playing that Lego Batman game and you have no idea what you’re doing. I have no idea. So I get sick. And I’m driving that car around. I’m like, where am I? I just want to get out and find something. It’s just too involved sometimes. And the older you get, the more you get motion sickness. And I can’t. And it breaks. I need Batman just to go home for half an hour and take a break. Do you get motion sickness? Yeah, yeah. Um I don’t know if I get motion sickness from a T V screen. But definitely a movie screen and certainly in real life. Yeah. Yeah. It’s an age thing. The older you get, you can’t do, I can’t do coasters anymore. I can’t do anything. So don’t make fun of us. I got sick at Universal Studios.
28:07 and the minions ride. And I was sitting still. I guess they could minions ride in the line waiting. Hey, you go in and it’s like one of these kind of like the seats rock and they move. It’s like almost like a flight simulator, but it’s a movie theater. And I went, just my son and I, and I send him off. To sit with some other nice family. And I’m sitting. Can you take care of my son? I’m watching him from afar. And I’m like, I keep my eyes on him the whole time because he was still pretty little. And I’m like, I’m not tricking my eyes off him. And every time I would look at the screen, I would go, oh. And I’m sitting on a bench, like still bolted to the ground. And I can’t even look at the screen. So I just eventually. All together and made sure that the nice family from Omaha, Nebraska was not abducting my son. It’s just the Ace thing, buddy. Sooner or later, it’s what happened here. When you go on a ride, just shut your eyes. Then why go on the ride, then? Let me go and see what this ride is. But I can’t. Do you know why? My eyes are shut.
29:10 They’ll make fun of us. So anyway, that’s what we have. It’s gonna happen. It happens to everybody sooner or later. Do you ever see old people on coasters? No. Those young, young people who Tom Cruise is old. He’s still here. He does. He’s Tom Cruise. He’s a Scientologist. He’s got all the secrets. He has, yeah. He doesn’t take medicine. He knows how to handle everything. He knows how to do life. We don’t. We don’t. Live what’s your number three. Mine were three. It’s from a music video. I think Why did they laugh at that? I just think it’s funny that I already see where we’re going. Your ones and threes are Flip-flopped, I’m sure. Dave, is he in this room? Is he behind us? I’m not saying what number one is. Luke, all I say is son, that is a great number. Empathet one. That’s a great number three for you. Great number three? Yes. Thriller. Is Phenomenal and it’s not my turn to say anything. So I I thought this I thought this is was the one
30:14 Gerdau. Who me? Yeah. How do you fucking think your followers are gonna forget Michael Jackson’s thriller? Right, like how would he forget that? You forgot a lot of zombie ones. Well, yeah, I forgot, yeah. Yeah, yeah. I didn’t say which ones, I didn’t say. Brother, I’m not saying any else. This is your number three. I proof. I approve. Yeah. Oh, I’m a john. I can’t watch. Yeah. I always love that. He’s like, no, I’m enjoying this. Yes, I’m enjoying this. And she gets up to leave. And he’s a good actor. The look on his face is like, you fucking bitch. This is what I want to see. He’s so mad that she’s getting up to leave. He’s like, you are just such a little bit.
31:15 See you next Wednesday. It is the same. Play the whole song. Play the whole video, 12 minutes long. It’s only a movie. It’s not funny. scare work. Wasn’t that scared? Scared. Consume. Yeah, you were scared. You were scared. Does she do cons she does chore theater all the time? And we’re going to end of October and she’s not announced. And where did you get her? Yes. I have John Landis on my. I’m sorry. Yes. I have John Landis on my album. Sorry. So I would love to get. What’s your ray? Yeah, I would love it. I love it too because. Everybody knows her name that’s our age because at the end when they show the credits, it says like starring Ola Ray. That’s like the f one of the first things that you see.
32:19 Otherwise, nobody knows who she is. No. It was, it’s fantastic. You know, she’s good at walking slowly. Yeah, walking slowly, put one foot next to the other one and super like who walks that slow as your other table. Like, Michael’s doing 99.9% of the work. Like, Ola, we just need you to walk slowly enough that Michael can dance around you. Do you think you can do that? Yes. Oh, buddy. Excellent. Is this your number one? It’s not my turn yet. Whose turn is now? I’ve lost track now. Dave. Dave’s. Dave’s three, right? Okay, and then back to me for two. But Dave thinks that That my three, that R311 is going to be swapped. Oh, come on. I knew the second you said it. I didn’t know the order necessary, but I knew what your number ones were. This is like this is like the you know, the outcome that everyone saw coming. Dave knows this world. Dave’s been around us for so long. Well, you probably know mine too. Although. Yeah, Luke has a bet. He knows exactly what you’re.
33:21 One is he called it. put it on Kaushi. Mm-hmm. What’s the original. The Evil Dead. 1981’s The Evil Dead. Yeah. That at the time when I was younger, seeing that was the scariest movie that I had ever seen. And the one that affected me the most. I probably have talked about this before. That was the movie that I couldn’t shake for a long time. Did you see this when you were like, what, nine or 10, do you think? No, I didn’t see it when we were that little, but seeing it then as a teenager, like we’re, we grew up with slashers. We grew we grew up with Michael and and Freddie and Leatherface and you know like that that’s that was kind of our horror and that was scary to me when I was little but it was still like exciting and titillating and and fun to watch this movie it was not fun to watch When you were little, and when you were even like a preteen, because of how. Overwhelming it was, and this was a kind of like there were rules to these other movies: you know, Jason’s going to kill people and then he’s going to get shot, he’s going to get back up, right? Right, there’s a pattern to those movies. This movie was chaos.
34:34 There was no pattern to it whatsoever. And you didn’t feel safe watching it as a young person. Trees raping people. There’s these long camera shots. And you’re right. The thing that really got me was the noise and the sound. Um that were just non-stop. irritating to the point where You really, really wanted it to stop. It was scary and it was also. Irritating. I don’t think I’ve hadn’t gondones. like the re-releases or maybe the sequels. I never saw this one way back when until Probably the reboots or something like that. Yeah. There were no rules to this. And that was frightening to me. I don’t know, I don’t know, but I think it’s really some sort of extra sense or something, you know, like ESP. Okay, try this. Okay, um. It’s a seven. I don’t believe it! Queen of of spades. Hearts. Eight of spades. Two spades. Jack of diamonds. Jack of clubs. Why have you disturbed our sleep? Awakened us from our ancient slumber. You and I!
35:58 Like the others before you. One by one we will take you. That Voice that that that that voice is it’s that’s that is the scary voice, though it’s that slowed down, it’s what they do in the exorcist too. And that was another movie that just Couldn’t thinking about it. Terrify me. And I would think about it and, you know, and in bed at night with the lights out, like, and I would hear that, that, that slowed down. Um, voice like where it’s where it’s like downfather, you know what I mean? They like slow down a human voice and it becomes scary. Oh my god, yeah. That really got to me as a kid. And this was the jumping point of a wonderful franchise. Of the ones that Sam Raimi did and the ones that have come after remakes, they’re all good. I Luke Luke wants to
37:01 To knock down your what we had number three. No, the creatures in Evil Dead are not traditional zombies, but rather demonically possessed humans and corpse known as Deadites. They are. Right, but they’re zombies. Yeah. Yeah, I mean. I’m I’m going with it. Lou Lou looked at him and he’s like, Look, I go, Yeah, none of us are zombies. The last of us aren’t zombies. Yeah. Who’s the girl who pops out of the of the thing? And th in this first one, like the the head that comes out of the the floor and so the one that’s in the floor. Yeah. I don’t know her name. She does conventions a lot, I think. Yeah, she does. And she spends the whole time just taunting them. The the floor is open to crackers. Why didn’t you just leave? This is the first time you cheesy. They try to leave in the car and they get to the bridge and the bridge is out. The bridge that they’ve come across is out. It’s this like terrible matte painting, like an 80s mat painting with like this bridge. It was a coyote painting, right? Yeah, kind of.
38:02 This one really got to me. And even today, watching the first one, and then it, and then they become funny. You know, like, it’s like, that’s like a whole nother thing that’s like great about these. Most people would say Evil Dead 2 is. Best in the franchise, and I’m not going to argue with that. But this one is the scarier, I would say. This is definitely scarier, yeah. That’s my number three. All right. Where we at now, Blake? Twos? Does it make two? Is it me? That was his three, so it was back to me. And then you or the UI didn’t make? I forget. No, they went with you. No, her number two. Yeah. My number two. Is something that was huge in its time. Was like We watched this shit live. The the original Walking Dead. Like when it started, and I remember watching the first season, you guys were too young. I remember going upstairs, oh, there’s a new show on about the zombies. Let me go watch it and see how it is. Loved it immediately. And then I guess as time passes, you guys had you guys watch it. Did you think this show was going to get canceled? I, yeah. Yeah. Cause a TV show about zombies.
39:08 That’s not gonna Yeah, I mean or not lasts however long it lasted, but fucking spinoffs after spinoffs, which we watch all the spinoffs. Yeah. The spinoffs suck. Some of these spinoffs are just so fucking bad. The Walking Dead was a show that you watched Sunday nights nine o’clock AMC. Live. So’cause someone got killed, someone got killed off. We went to the conventions, that was a big part of our lives. We went to all the c conventions, the Walker Stalker cons and Monster Manias and we met 80% of the cast. We need, you know, we haven’t met Rick yet, but all like Shane and Daryl and you know, everybody, the Coast Guard. Remember when we used to go? Go to a con, we met the person. Did we watch the episode? Who was the your guy? His head got cut off. Hershel. We saw Hershel at your theater. On a Saturday. That Sunday night, his character died all. Yeah. Which kind of explains: hey, I’m at a con, I’m not working anymore, so I’m dead. You know what I mean?
40:11 Walking Dead was a huge part of our lives for the longest time. And we still watch the what’s name name all the There’s The Walking Dead. The movie even wants The Talking Dead with Chris Hardwick afterwards. Paid on the guests. And there’s that Fear the Walking Dead with Colman Domingo, who knew that he’s a fucking star now after that shitty show. Um The Daryl Dixon has a show. Yeah. Maggie and Negan. Maggie and Negan didn’t have a show that we watched, what’s the kid one? kid one. I said I was called World Beyond. World Beyond. We watched that one. Rick and Michonne. Oh my God. Rick and Michonne. What’s that? Five? Yeah. I mean we we we watch everything Thing Walking Dead. At all. But at a st Dave, did did did he ever watch The Walking Dead? I don’t think he did. Never saw a second of it. No, but I probably would like it, at least the original stuff. I know that people, my son watched it and he has said what I’ve heard other people say: it’s fantastic and it’s like the best ever. And then something happens in one season, and everybody just was like, okay, well, this completely sucks now. I don’t know what that is. Everybody’s saying when Negan joined.
41:19 Yeah, Jeffrey Dean Morgan’s character, which nobody cares. This is spoilers. This show’s been out for 15 years now, okay. There is What pisses me off to this day still is that hold on is that Negan, there’s this character Maggie and Glenn. Glenn is Maggie’s. Dave has no idea. Glenn is Maggie’s. Boyfriend, husband, Steven Yeun. Is is the actor. Negan bashes in his head. They partners, bashes in his head, kills him his eyeball. Boing pops out. He’s dead. Today, 2026, on the Maggie and Negan Show, they’re working together. Friends, and we always even Kelly gets pissed off. You killed my husband. I’m not teaming up with you. Then there’s a kind of a hinting. They like. Are they falling in love here? You say, Jesus Christ, after the Walking Dead, and then 10 years later, this happens. No. Anyway, Dave, I’m sorry. I just had to go off there. So the thing that bothers you is the romance angle. Well, they’re teaming up. Now they’re friends. You killed. Like, if anybody killed anyone on my family members, I wouldn’t be teaming up with them later on sharing a hoagie.
42:28 No! Even if there was not that many people left on the earth? Well, on these new shows, there’s a lot there’s towns, there’s hotels. People are going to jobs. It’s like there’s the walking dents out there. They’re not like dance parties. Yeah, they’re having dance parties. They’re having roasts. It’s like. There’s zombies walking around. So it’s not a It is. It’s in New York now, and everything’s like burned down, and there’s all vines everywhere. But they just had to live in their best lodge. And they’re just, you killed my husband. And the son is on the show too now. And you killed my dad. Don’t talk to me. When the walk did first started. It was a lot of zombies. Oh, yeah. It was the eight cast members and then zombies. Yeah. Or whatever. The Walking Dead, which was great. Like, Just like in Smallville, never no one ever said the word Superman. In Walking Dead, no one ever says the word zombie, ever. I heard the zombie pop culture doesn’t exist in that world.
43:31 I don’t So they don’t know what a zombie is? They’re not using the word zombies happens in other movies too. Yeah, which is fantastic. And and that’s why the walking dead means that they’re dead. and they’re walking. And it’s the they could combine the long walk with the walking dead and those zombies would all win. Say? Would you like to things that aren’t even zombie movies? Were you like if Rocky and Drago became friends? Well see that’s ki that that’s what kinda happens. Yeah, they and even Rocky and apo but but nobody although Drago did kill Apollo. Mm. Are they friends? Is there a scene where they’re friends? There’s a scene well, I guess they’re not friends. They have that conversation. Oh, but time has passed. Yeah. Yeah, yeah, yeah. This I don’t want to see. You can’t understand either of them. It’s like zombies. Are they saying I hate you or do I love you? I don’t know. So, anyway, Walking Dead is a gigantic in pop culture history, and we watched all of it. So, that’s my number two.
44:34 That’s my number two. Well, guess what? It’s also his number two. It’s gotta be because he talks about the all the time. Yeah. You love that. Yeah, how many people do you have on that poster? How many counted that? Like over 40 something or is it 80 something? It’s like a bunch. It’s so much. And that was Caitlin’s project poster forever. And then she. Moved out. Does she still have it? Does she have it or do you have it? We have we have hanging actually in her room. So it’s it’s there. So she whenever she comes and visits or it’s mostly it’s it’s Luke’s side room now that he puts all of his shit in there now. But we’re never going to get Rick. No, I mean, he’s done conventions. I mean, sooner or later, 10, 20 years from now, I don’t know. He’s the guy from Love Actually? Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. When did we get him? He hasn’t done anything yet. Like, he hasn’t done anything. He does shows in Europe. He did Walker Stalker in Atlanta. Yeah. And then we’re filming. They’re in its prime. Yeah. Yeah. He’s not like a big star. But I bet you hadn’t. Sooner or later, you’ll end up getting him. I mean Michael J. Fox and some of his other people do these conventions. This guy’s this guy’s the guy that wears the sweaters in Love Actually wears a sweater every scene.
45:44 She even has a spot. It’s a cool poster of Andrew Lincoln. on top of like a a bust on its side shooting. And as well. There’s all like these zombies. We had the zombies sign on the bottom and the cast all around him. And she had a spot left, like a spot by his arm. That he wants she wants him to sign there and then some other fucking Or the gunshot. Like the gun. Yeah, some other guy signed there. She was, she had a f that. But but now we won’t. Just sign on his body. Yeah, yeah. Anyway, that’s that’s That’s our live day. Sooner or later we’ll get him. Does Dave have any pusser? Projects. I don’t get autographs really. Every once in a while. Huey Lewis when we went to that one because I wanted him to sign my 45 from Back to the Future. You and I are very mature. listing, which is horrible. That’s not it. We mean happy. Luke? We buy everything. We gotta have it. We gotta have a physical copy. We gotta have have it in our hand.
46:48 Ridiculous. We we like the physical copy. No, of everything. Toys, action figures. It’s a it’s it’s just too much. Yeah, what If it makes you happy, it’s not too much. Right. All right. Luke’s, those you two looking in. Okay. Dave? You’re number two. Number two, I talk about this a lot. On lots of shows. I’m going back to the original, to the classic 1968 Night of the Living Dead. It’s uh, it’s like you know, like what they say about Jesus. At Christmas, he’s the reason for the season. Yes. Night of the Living Dead is the Jesus Christ of zombie movies. Okay. It’s so great. It will always be. That sentence was never said in the history of life. It’s so, it’s the perfect jumping off point. And back in the day, this was like horror, like beyond belief. He shows kids now, they’d be like, What the fuck is this? This is so stupid. But this is the archetype for everything that will come after, and it’ll never get old, and I’ll always love it forever.
47:56 He said, really be scared here. Johnny. still afraid. Stop it now. I mean it They’re coming to get you, Barbara. Stop it! You’re ignorant! They’re coming for you, Barbara. Stop it! You’re acting like a child! They’re coming for you. Never gets old. watch it at least once a year. Um I hate it when I see people have colorized it. The black and white adds to it. Uh yeah. I mean I I’ve talked about this a lot a lot, like too much, so I’m not gonna Say too much else, but I really find comfort in this movie. I watched this a lot when I was little. And uh probably is one of the things that made me like horror as much as I do. I I have to agree, like I’ve seen I never watched this the whole thing. I’ve seen pieces here and there and everything and I’m I’m curious and all. I never really sat down and watched these. Then there’s like all these like
48:58 Sequels and rebate remote reboots and remakes. I know I said remoots. Remoots. I like remoots. It says reboot and remake combined. I just made up a word. Remoots. And some of those are good. Yeah, I’m gonna I know you’re not gonna say it so like we get to honorable mentions. Dawn of the 2004 Dawn of the Dead remake in the mall with Ty Burrell and uh Ving Rhames. I remember that one. Really freaking great. That is, that is, that deserves. An honorable mention of the They take this basic idea and the isolation of it. And up the ante with some better acting. Honestly, the acting in this is pretty bad. Way better effects, more contemporary setting like a mall, like they do in the original Dawn of the Dead. The ways that they’ve gone with this, some of them have stunk, obviously, but there are some really, really good ones. As well. So, yeah, this is this is, and I already talked, I had this on a list not that long ago because I talked about you’re still laughing at my word. It’s just a word. Removed. Yeah. Um, about the racial overtones of.
50:15 Night of the Living Dead. Yeah, yeah, yeah. With the hero being a black guy through the whole thing and what happens to him at the end. being like this. Okay, this is a zombie movie, but it’s also. Social commentary. So watch this in 1968 and remember the time frame of when that was. and digest that too. So this is like more than just And you and you’re right, you have to give it nineteen sixty eight, I mean this this when it came out, this this was you know like this meant a lot back. You know what I mean? Now like like you know, like but like Dave said, people watch, oh my god, it’s horrible, but It me it means something for for everybody. The spine right two. Number one, is that where we’re at now? This one was tough. Let me get this ready for you. Go ahead. Is it a remote? It’s not this funny. This is not a remote. It is, I love dogs, Frankenweenie. No, it’s not. This is a no-brainer. This is just this.
51:18 Let me just say say this. I did look something up here so I can get I will have to say that I think this is how I was maybe. I don’t know, introduced to like Zombies December 2nd, 1983, when it premiered. Is the first time that I saw whatever 17 minutes? I even know how long this is. It was Michael Jackson’s thriller. So so this was the first zombie figure. Like, I really don’t think, like, I was really like, like, Dave’s like, like, like, Dave the Death. Like, I don’t think I lay them down. I never really. Think so. I don’t remember anything when I was born until this was out, like zombie from one until I was nine. I guess. This would do it for you forever. Forever. Sorry I didn’t believe you.
52:29 She sat down. Guys who married me. Yeah, I like you. Yes. I just wonder if Be my girl. Oh, oh my god. Uh So sweet. It’s it’s it’s fantastic. And one of my favorite scenes is when he changes and you know, and the dance, it’s a thriller. Come on, it’s that’s a no-brainer. When he changes into the wolf or the zombie. Well, no, the the the zombies. When whenever he like she when she’s like surround they’re both surrounded and she looks around and then and the camera’s comes in like the like that jaw seen at right him. Yeah. And then he said she’d already changed. Yeah, come on. It’s fantastic. I guess I’m not to say. I just it’s Michael Jackson’s.
53:31 Thriller was, I swear. If I look back in time from whenever I was born until this came in, I don’t think I watched anything. Sure. Not positive, but I was really late, you know, about Mel Stallone Arnold watching all that shit. I wasn’t, it was Freddie, Michael, and Jason. I never really, you know. Jason could be maybe a zombie. I don’t know. Well, yeah, that’s there’s like a lot of. And well maybe we’ll talk about that on the honorable mentions. Jason is a zombie, right? I was thinking because he’s the undead. He drowns. But Do zombies age? I guess so because he died as a kid. Now he’s a full-grown man. Hey, yeah, who knows? The rules are out the window. I mean, Jason’s way more of a zombie than my. The evil dead because they’re not, Luke is right, they’re not. They’re not zombies. They’re like possessed. They’re demonstrated. They’re demonically possessed, but they do die. times I come back from the dead. So there’s an element of it. So it’s a zombie? There’s no rules to this whatsoever. Jason, how does Jason get from the little boy that drowned?
54:35 Mm-hmm. glorious slab of beefcake that he is later in the other movies. So he’s out of I was dying for that Crystal Lake show. Shave. That Crystal Lake show. Doesn’t it look amazing? Yeah, the first two episodes are out already. Another knot. I’m pretty sure they are. It comes out in October. October. Don’t you dare, because I’ll hang up right now. This show’s over. All I’m telling you is, I saw a thing this morning that said. Now that the first two episodes are out, has this been worth the wait? Look. Is this out? This is October 15th. I’m just telling you, maybe somebody did like a preview. And I heard they’re all dropped at once. Yeah. I can’t wait. Either way, I can’t wait. People have their problems with that already. The whole Jason lore is not lining up according to the show. Oh, whatever. Exactly. I don’t give a shit. But anyway, Jason is, yeah, he’s, you, you, you shoot him and you cut off his, but then what about Michael Myers? Isn’t there one that he gets his head cut off? And then he’s back? Oh, that’s not him.
55:38 That’s a that’s a um Ambulance driver. Oh yeah. That’s not him the entire time during that chase, so that’s how they explain that. He crushed the throat. Of Okay. ambulance driver so the guy couldn’t say like hey i’m not michael myers i’m bob Yeah. So that’s why he wasn’t talked the whole time. Well at least at least they were thinking, you know. Storyline. Well, this is this is retcon for the sequel after when that shit happened. Yeah. Every, yeah, every sequel denies the other sequel or the franchise. Yeah. The Halloween after H2O, she’s in a Mental institution, like her brother, waiting for him to come back. And she’s there because she has now learned that she killed an innocent man with like a family. Well, that wasn’t even Michael Dergen. You got so many different channels. I know. It’s it’s fine. It’s always going to be stupid. If you sit and dwell on how stupid movies are, you’re never going to like any movie that has ever been made. Right.
56:47 They really are stupid. If you think about it, everything. Yeah. Divided harmons are stupid. I mean, it’s kind of stupid. It’s well, it’s a, it’s a thing like that could happen. It’s a serial killer could. Could do it. Like that first one, okay. And then, you know, six times, and that’s. Pretty funny. I shot six time leaves. All right, my number one was Michael Jackson’s Thriller with Luke’s. Yes. It’s quite valuable and was a Friday the thirteenth. Yeah, yeah, it was a shaved head and everything. I’m done talking about him. I don’t want to talk about him ever again in this house. Wow. Alright, so is this my number one? I think Luke’s had to go. I think right your number one is The thriller? Thriller, which three and one are swapped because my three would last of us. What’s your number one, buddy? My number one is the last of us. There we go. Dave, Dave called it Dave. wins the Lottery pot. And we know why. You just love tell she.
57:49 Yeah, yeah, I see. Now, Dave’s number one, which You know what his One is yeah, okay. Yeah, what is it? What do I? Well Are you sure? Do I need to tell you? Don’t we tell you what your number one is? Okay, yeah. I think it’s Shaun of the Dead. I agree with that. Never heard of it. My number one is Shaun of the Dead. I gotta have you watch these, buddy. Yeah. It’s the best. It’s the perfect combination of all this stuff we’ve been talking about and just drop dead. Fantastic comedy. So yeah, the this the I don’t know how many episodes of like this specifiers have we done? Maybe not a hundred, but like maybe if to I don’t know. I would say around like 80 to 100, maybe. Yeah. I don’t know. I bet Shaun of the Dead has been on like at least 50% of my list. It’s getting old at this point. What’s this about? He’s going to tell you. It’s a zombie. It’s a zombie movie. It’s just people are being infected. The dead are coming back. It’s the traditional George Romero rules. You know, you kill them with a, with a,
59:01 force trauma to the head. They’re coming back, but He is so self-centered and has lost his girlfriend, and his roommate is such a piece of shit lazy bastard that they don’t even notice for a while. That’s what’s funny about it. I showed you this. It’s click. He goes get coffee. Remember that? And then he’s like, he’s like walking by and getting coffee. They’re walking right past him. He doesn’t realize that there’s nobody awake. Nobody’s alive. The teller is dead behind the counter. He goes and he buys a soda. He slips at one point. He’s slipping on blood. He doesn’t even know. We gotta watch this. Yeah. It is good. And he is just this kind of pathetic dude. And this zombie apocalypse is his. Chance to be The guy, like be a hero and show his girlfriend and his mother and his stepfather. who, you know, that that he’s he’s got some reason to be on earth rather than just being. A lowly apathetic and terrible electronics salesman.
1:00:05 But this is them coming out of the bar. This is another case where they don’t even know. They’re drunk. They’re coming out. And him and his buddy just drank. Um and they’re coming out of the bar and they have no idea that there’s zombie shit going on. [Music] What’s he doing? To say bass or freeze, no idea. They don’t know until the next morning. Which is great. Yeah. So do they think they’re drunk?
1:01:14 He thinks that guy’s drunk. He thinks that they’re drunk. He’s drunk. Those people are drunk. And the girl in the background were making that, but she was eating his neck. She’s fighting his head off. Yeah, it’s so funny. Yeah. On the deck. Yeah, I have a statue that talks of him saying lines. He’s got his cricket bat. Yeah. Yeah. So this. Was this their first team up? Him and Nick Frost and this guy? No, it didn’t have stuff on TV. There’s this TV show called Spaced. There’s other stuff. Before this, but this was the first one where people were really like, Who are these guys? Yeah, and that’s that led to other things. Yeah, he’s in I think a Star Wars thing, I think. Nick Frost, isn’t he? Is he a voice or something? No, he’s in one of those new. He’s the new uh Hagrid. And the new Harry Potter that he was in a Star Wars state, I think, to Nick Frost. They’re a big Star Wars fan, so I wouldn’t be surprised. Simon Pegg, he voiced Dengar on fucking um
1:02:17 The Clone Wars cartoon. And but he said something he was in Star Trek and he said, I’ll never do Star Wars, blah, blah, blah. But then he did the voice, blah, blah. It’s just, you know, people get pissed because what he says. whatever. That’s I knew that we we knew that was your Shaun, your number one. Shaun of the Dead? Yes, yeah. But they didn’t team up in other movies, though. Hot Fuzz Day, right? Is that what I want? So, yeah. But um yeah any umentis? Am I first? Yeah, the same order. I know I don’t have m many and all. There’s just so much I just Did you just unplug it, buddy? What you do? Do you just unplug your headphone? Is it in? Good. I don’t know, I wouldn’t. I have I don’t mention I have um World War Z. I had Um 28 days later, all those movies. And I had a T V show which We watched it. I don’t know why I liked it, but it was on the CW. iZombie. It was fun. And it was a cute show. She was like legend.
1:03:21 No, see? I am legend. Yeah. I I just there’s so many. I just forget. I am legend is a monster. And I’ll look Mm-hmm. There there’s so many of them out there. I don’t know. They’re all just they’re all blending together. I get Twenty eight days later the borns. Okay. iZombie. Yeah, yeah, that’s it. Resident Evil. Yeah, mm-hmm. It’s it’s the same shit. iZombie was a fun show. It was a fun show. It was cute. And we like her now on on Ghosts. Yeah. So Dave? Doing a little mentions. Yeah, I I guess my questions, like, I mean, my I’m still with the Evil Dead thing, you know. whether or not that counts and you know for a lot of people they’re probably like you’re an asshole it doesn’t count Uh uh I was thinking about I Am Legend. Are are they zombies? I don’t know if they’re zombies are they are they whatever um infecting too by I don’t know. Yeah, because he’s a scientist and he’s trying to come up with the cure. And for, you know, I know that in the books, people were mad when that movie is fantastic.
1:04:24 It is fantastic, yes. People were mad that read the books because it was such a big deal because, in the books, they are clearly vampires. Called vampires. They are vampires. And then, when they got to the movie, they made them this. And I don’t know what this is. So if that counts, that would change my list. The one that really, really changes my list the most. are the Pirates of the Caribbean movies. Are they zombies? They are the undead. Yeah. Like, is Captain Barbosa and Davey Jones? Like, I mean, they become why they vampire the book. I don’t know, that’s a tell. The book was written. Um I think the zombies, if you’re like half skeleton, half face. And you’re walking around talking to giant dab, that’s a zombie. Yeah, like, I don’t know. They become like. Fish hybrid man hybrid zombies, which is cool. Everybody loves that shit. But if the Pirates of the Caribbean movies.
1:05:28 Are zombie movies technically, then that’s like Whole new The first Pirates of the Caribbean movie is right up there with Shaun of the Dead then. I love that so much. If they’re undead. And a zombie is undead. So I, yeah. Yeah, are they ghosts? Are they zombies? I don’t know what they are. So I didn’t include it just because it’s so convoluted, but that would change things. The actual things that are zombie things, there’s another, I like the comedy, the zomcom. The Life After Beth is a really great movie to watch with Aubrey Plaza. Really funny. I will watch that, I think. I love Aubrey Plaza. I think I’ve saw that. She’s hilarious in it. Uh and then death becomes her. Oh my god, yeah. They’re zombies, right? Aren’t they? God, it’s been forever. Are these yeah, they’re he’s still alive, Bruce, right? It’s those two? He’s still alive. There is definitely a potion that Isabella Rossellini.
1:06:32 Them, you know, to become this ever-youthful kind of thing, but then they die. And then it becomes them being undead and trying to use him as a plastic surgeon. To make themselves look not dead. Goldie Hawn is like, she’s dead, dead. And he like paints her. He does like a basically what you would do to a corpse for a funeral home. Is he a plastic surgeon or is he an undertaker? It’s been forever, Dave. I don’t know. Either way, he’s using his skills. And then that’s what, because they’re both fighting over him because he used to be like handsome and cool. And now he’s just this really like. Terrible, yeah, like just like terribly unattractive guy in every way, right? Uh, really funny. I remember liking that a lot. Return of the Living Dead, which I think we talked about at some point on something. The comedy, more infused, not a sequel to the Night of the Living Dead movies, but very funny. And that’s the Tarman, which is one of my favorite all-time zombie movies.
1:07:34 Incantations like the more brains, tar man that’s really great, and one that There’s a lot of Um Korean zombie movies, Japanese zombie movies. My favorite one is called Alive. It came out in 2000. And it’s really just one guy in a high rise, like a ta a skyscraper. And him staying alive. Like in this building. Really good. I think it’s on Netflix. Not the alive where the airplane goes down and the internet. Not that alive. This is 2000s alive. But like train to Busan would be another. Honorable mention, some of that stuff is really, really great. What are you a more like. A lot of movies. What are you more afraid of? Zombies who can fucking do track and run at you. Or the slow motion zombies that you can say, oh my god, a zombie coming, all right, let’s walk, let’s cross the street. The runners. Yeah. P people actually actually make videos uh about this.
1:08:35 About what? Which one is which one that they could survive? Oh, like walk like the walk of dead people, they grab them by the head, they stab them in in their in their head and they die. The ones that like the World War Z zombies? Yeah. Forget it. Forget it. Yeah, yeah, forget it. That’s that scene at the beginning of 28 weeks later. Where they’re chasing Robert Carlyle. Over the plains, and he gets to that boat. He has to run to that boat because it’s like, well, if I’m in a boat, at least I’m safe in water. And they’re just catching him, and you’re like, oh my God. And it’s this big sweeping Danny Boyle shot. And it’s like, this is, this is like gorgeous and beautiful and terrifying. Yeah. Isn’t there a Walking episode where, like, zombies, I guess, don’t drown. They can’t swim. but they can walk underwater. And stay alive and just walk underwater because they’re already dead. Yeah, like pirates of the Caribbean. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah, I don’t want one that’s that’s like that’s like like slow. Then I’ll just, you know, I’ll walk, I’ll walk around him. You know what I mean? Yeah.
1:09:41 Dave. If a zombie apocalypse ever happened, what what would be your your plan? Plan, yeah. We always say that we have a plan here, so we have a zombie apocalyptic plan in this house. plan would be to get his Many Uh canned goods. and seeds. as I could get. To start with. That’s a good that’s a good good plan. And some kind of water filter. You know what I mean? Like, if it was like, okay, this is going to happen, I would, I would need. I would I would need those things, right? Because it’s like you can the can goods will hold you. A while and they’re not going to go back. Would you stay in your house? Yeah, would you live in your house? Um no. No no. I think it’d be too easy to get into. Dave’s smart. We didn’t think about the cane goods and the water. We have a place. If a zombie apocalypse happens, we all, we all, you know how people have, if there’s a fire in your house, meet here?
1:10:42 Yeah. We have, I have a rule and I think, and I might blame this on Obi-Wan and Anakin Skywalker. We need the high ground. Okay. Do you want to go up to the school up the road path and go up on the roof? And that one round circle area rooftop that You can see what’s coming at you. And nobody else can get up there because you can pull up the ladder. You need to see. Coming at you. But yes. But it’s us, that’s us dangerous because what if another person sees you and comes and tries tries to take your shit? We’ll see them coming because we have the high ground. That’s what becomes more dangerous. And I like that. Luke’s point in these movies where, like, at some point. Someone’s coming for you. A real person is going to want to take what you have. Right. At some point, your biggest… Problem is not the zombies. It’s the other people. It hits each other. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah, I mean I g a school would be good. I guess honestly, I would try to probably Live at the grocery store.
1:11:45 You raised me. That’s ideal. If you It’s got all the food that you’re going to need for a very long time. And at the grocery store, they also have means to cook it. you know, at least for a little while. And if not, you build a fire. But you know everyone’s gonna be Going there. You’re not going to be the only person who’s going to go there. You know what I mean? Yeah, well, that’s like the mist. That’s not a zombie movie. That’s a alien movie. I think you should, like, since you live right across from that hospital area, you should go up there. They have food in there. You should go up on that rooftop. But that’s a big rooftop. I want a small rooftop. I wanna they they’ve got good to the high school. Yo, that’s a big rooftop. I want that small, that round building in the school up the road here is the round rooftop. And we saw kids up there years ago. Remember, they climbed up there and they were like, look at us. I want to be in a little round circle. Like, so nobody, I know that’s my little house, my little spot. I love it, it rains on a certain snow. Then you go inside. Yeah. Yeah. But it’s. I’m scared. Well, in dawn of the day, they go on the roof of the mall and they just like.
1:12:48 You know, can see everybody and they’re all outside. And then they start, there’s a funny scene in the 2004 dawn out there where they just start shooting. Boar. who look like celebrities. Remember that and there’s like that guy looks like Jay Leno blows it off. And then there’s a guy, Ving Rhames is playing chess with a guy on another roof. Do you remember that? And he’s holding up the sign, like Ponder Rook 4. A little bit, yeah. Yeah. So the roof thing is. Legit. I don’t want to be high- you need you need high ground. I don’t want to go like in the basement because there’s no way out. I don’t want to trap myself in anywhere. No, no basement. Yeah. Yeah, that you can’t get out. Do you think you could outrun a zombie? Well, it depends. Is it a World War Z or is it the Walking Dead? I couldn’t outrun a turtle. Or what if the turret you affected from last month? Bloaters clickers. The bloaters are are they’re fat and they’re slow. But that’s the thing, you gotta be quiet. And we just said. Mom said this did the other day, which sucks.
1:13:50 If something happens. We have to kill our dog now. dog would give us away. You know what I mean? We have to take the dog’s life. We have to put a bullet in the dog’s head. So we can survive. Yeah, that would be a great scene in the movie. When you like, because it’s like, oh, they’re gonna, they’re gonna have to do it. Like, yeah, there’s an episode of MASH where, um, being They’re on a bus with a bunch of uh like uh uh refugees. And the North Koreans are coming in. And there’s a crying baby on the bus and Hawkeye’s yelling at the lady leak. baby’s sh like baby’s gonna get the bell and the lady kills her baby. This is like a merit, this is a sitcom from the 70s. Yeah. Because the baby’s going to give them away. Yeah. That’s the thing. Like the chewbarks at everything, at the birds and the bees. You know what I mean? We can’t. We had to take his life. And then I said I wouldn’t shoot it. I would just Choke it. You know what I mean? I can’t put a bullet in that, but I’ll I’ll
1:14:52 Choke it out until it’s a little bit more legend. Does he kill his dog? Yeah, that’s a that is a really Horrible and sad part of that movie. Remember, the dog gets infected. And then he takes the dog home and he’s like, he’s trying to like treat the dog, but it’s his only friend. And then he’s like, He’s just waiting and he knows that the dog’s going to turn. And he’s just kind of sitting there on the floor with the dog in the kitchen. And then the dog is like, He’s he’s looking at the dog’s eyes and they’re and the gums and they’re starting to like change and he’s and the and he’s like he waits till the last second and the dog kind of goes like chokes it out. That there’s a sequel in the works. Yeah, there’s been forever. With Michael B. Jordan, and and and Will Smith. And and Will Smith. Maybe he’d slide each other. I don’t know. Money is on Michael B. Sure. He is Creed. Corey Feldman could survive uh a zombie apocalypse? I think he’s a zombie. He would entertain them so much with his music that they would just stop.
1:15:56 They would start dancing’cause you know what? They all the zombies saw him, they would hey. That’s Michael Jackson. And then they would just dance behind him. Yeah. Come back, King. Don’t you worry about Corey? He can take care of himself here, okay. Well, I guess is that it? Is that is that our list? Or our zombie ish lists? Didn’t know undead list, I guess. Well How do you enjoyed? Yeah. It was good. It was good. It just, you know. idiots talking about, you know. zombie stuff. Yeah. But, um Resident Evil’s out this weekend. Either see it, you know, and then listen to this or vice versa. But either way, I hope you’re alive. Listen to the tits episode, and we’ll see you next time on. Best of Fives. Fair ninety ninety ninth.
